Morning Prayer of Covering
Morning Prayer of Covering
Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for waking me up this morning.
This is the day that You have made, and I choose to rejoice and be glad in it.
Before I do anything else today, I submit myself, my family, my friends, my home, my work, my travels, and everything concerning us into Your hands.
Lord, Your Word says:
“He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.”
— Psalm 91:1
So today, let us dwell in Your presence. Keep us under the shadow of Your wings.
You are our refuge and our fortress. You are our God, and we trust in You.
Cover My Family
Father, I pray for my family.
Protect our going out and our coming in, from this time forth and forevermore, according to Psalm 121.
Guard our minds.
Guard our hearts.
Guard our bodies.
Guard our relationships.
Guard our home.
Keep us from accidents, sickness, violence, danger, deception, temptation, and anything that would seek to pull us away from You.
Wherever we travel today, order our steps.
Give us wisdom about where to go, what to do, what to say, and what not to say.
Let Your peace rule in our home.
Help us to be patient with one another, quick to forgive, slow to anger, and rich in love.
Protect our marriage.
Protect our children.
Protect our unity.
Let no weapon formed against us prosper, and give us wisdom to recognize anything that is not from You.
Cover My Friends and Loved Ones
Lord, I lift up my friends, extended family, brothers and sisters in Christ, and everyone You have placed in my life.
Some of them may be fighting battles I know nothing about.
Strengthen them.
Comfort those who are hurting.
Provide for those who are lacking.
Give wisdom to those making difficult decisions.
Bring peace to those who are anxious.
Bring conviction and restoration where anyone is walking away from truth.
Your Word says:
“The Lord is faithful, who will establish you and guard you from the evil one.”
— 2 Thessalonians 3:3
Be faithful to guard them today.
Cover Me
Father, cover me today.
Protect my heart from pride.
Protect my mind from confusion.
Protect my mouth from speaking carelessly.
Protect my eyes from looking at what I should not see.
Protect my ears from listening to what will corrupt my heart.
Help me to walk in the Spirit.
Give me discernment.
If something looks good but is not from You, give me wisdom to recognize it.
If I am tempted, remind me that You always provide a way of escape.
If I become afraid, remind me that You have not given me a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind.
If I become discouraged, remind me that Your grace is sufficient for me.
Put On the Armor of God
Today I put on the whole armor of God.
I fasten the belt of truth around me.
I put on the breastplate of righteousness.
I prepare my feet with the gospel of peace.
I take up the shield of faith, with which I can extinguish the fiery darts of the evil one.
I put on the helmet of salvation.
And I take up the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God.
Teach me to pray continually and remain alert.
Let truth govern what I believe today—not fear, rumors, assumptions, social media, circumstances, or the opinions of people.
Guard Our Home
Father, let our home be a place where Your name is honored.
Let there be peace within these walls.
Anything that brings confusion, bitterness, division, lust, fear, hatred, deception, or disorder—give us wisdom to recognize it and remove it from our lives.
As Joshua declared:
“As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”
Let that be true of our house.
May what we watch, listen to, speak about, and participate in honor You.
Protect Our Travels
Lord, watch over us on the road.
Protect every vehicle we enter.
Give drivers alertness and wisdom.
Protect us from reckless drivers, mechanical failures, dangerous conditions, distractions, and unexpected hazards.
Your Word says:
“The Lord shall preserve your going out and your coming in from this time forth, and even forevermore.”
— Psalm 121:8
So wherever we go today, go before us.
Guide Our Decisions
Father, Your Word says:
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.”
— Proverbs 3:5–6
Direct our paths today.
Close doors that should be closed.
Open doors that You want opened.
Do not allow us to force something You have not ordained.
Give us the humility to listen when You correct us and the courage to obey when You lead us.
Bless Us and Keep Us
And now, Lord, I pray the blessing You gave in Numbers 6:
May the Lord bless us and keep us.
May the Lord make His face shine upon us and be gracious to us.
May the Lord lift up His countenance upon us and give us peace.
Father, I do not trust in a prayer as though the words themselves have power.
My trust is in You.
You are our Protector.
You are our Provider.
You are our Shepherd.
You are our Father.
Whatever happens today, keep our hearts near You.
Help us seek first Your kingdom and Your righteousness.
Let our words bring life.
Let our actions demonstrate Christ.
Let our home be filled with Your peace.
Let us walk in wisdom, truth, grace, humility, love, and obedience.
And when this day is finished, may we be able to say that You kept us, guided us, corrected us, strengthened us, and carried us.
We place ourselves, our family, our friends, our plans, and this entire day into Your hands.
In the name of Jesus Christ,
Amen.
